AKA Knowa Lazarus is ½ of the super duo music group “Q-York”. He was born and raised in the birthplace of Hip-Hop New York, NY (Queens, NY to be exact) and also lived in Los Angeles, CA for 4 years. Inspired by Gawad Kalinga, he then bought a one-way ticket to Manila, Philippines with a mission to help bring the true essence of the Hip-Hop culture to his motherland but through that journey he evolved into a multi-faceted singer / songwriter, performer, producer and entrepreneur.

Chief Operations Officer

Born and raised in The Philippines and migrated to USA, Queens, NY at age 16. Attended Newtown High School in Elmhurst, NY and CUNY College for Nursing graduating with a B.A. in Social Science. Currently working in Managed Health Care Network Operations for the past 24 years, she also obtained a Certificate in Healthcare Quality Management and Master Certificate in Healthcare Data Analytics. She says, “I am very blessed to be currently working from home with a major CA Health Plan as a Clinical Quality Senior Nurse Reviewer which gives me the flexibility to devote my time, creativity and to contribute to the vision and the mission of our foundation”.

Johnny D. Nguyen

Chief Communications Officer

A successful multipreneur born and raised in Santa Ana, California. Johnny specializes in performance marketing, digital media and communication strategies. His multi-award winning company adexchangegroup.com which was founded by his brother-in-law; Peter Nguyen, reached 100M in a little over a year. Johnny is an advocate for more visibility of Asians within the entertainment industry. His core passion is to give back to the community by inspiring individuals to improve their quality of life.

JoAnn Fields

Chief Development Director

JoAnn Fields aka "The Cap'n" was born in Los Angeles, CA and raised in San Diego, CA. Her parents immigrated to America from Asingan, Pangasinan, Philippines. JoAnn is a single parent of 4 beautiful young adults Johnathen, Darius, Jevon and Kamry. Her motivation to be involved in the community is her family. JoAnn enjoys working alongside the youth and she has done so both in the USA and internationally. She has also received a number of awards including Filipina Women’s Network Top 100 Most Influential Filipina Women; Urban League of San Diego County’s Top 40 Under 40, Latino/a Unity Coalition Leadership Award among others.

Kenneth E. Vigilia

Ken is currently the V.P. of Operations at Refresh Aesthetic and Lifestyle Medicine in Glendale, CA (www.refreshla.com). Being surrounded by parents and relatives who embark on mission trips all around the world to help those in need, he was inspired to help others as well. Ken has produced numerous benefit concerts and events. He is excited to share his passion and goodwill to the world through the Sama Sama Foundation.
